Home / The secret to shopping for bargains in Las Vegas

If you're a traveler on a budget, you're going to find yourself faced with a dilemma when shopping on the Las Vegas Strip - that dilemma being that prices for food, souvenirs and general merchandise are jacked up quite a bit. Sure, you may enjoy taking a walk around Las Vegas Strip shopping malls to see the ornate decorations and fine details, but keep that wallet stashed away.

Venturing outside of the Strip, though, is going to put you in line with some very decent bargain shopping establishments where you won't have to sacrifice quality for a lower cost. At any of these bargain-priced establishments, you'll find exactly what you're looking for - and in the end, you'll be saving yourself money for the rest of your vacation.

Outlet Malls

Travel five to 10 minutes (traffic pending) south on Las Vegas Blvd and you'll come across The Las Vegas Premium Outlets South. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets North are located off of Charleston near downtown Las Vegas. Both offer the same basic concept in scoring some fantastic bargains on name brand merchandise including Adidas, Ecko, PacSun, Puma, Disney, Coach, Michael Kors and Bose. Shop for any of these brands on the Strip, and you're likely to double your end-cost, paying solely for the rent the store has to pay for the premium location.

If you love brand names and you don't mind the drive, you can visit the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas. Don't let the name fool you. This mall is actually located about 45 minutes south of Las Vegas in Primm.

Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet

About the same distance from the Strip as the Premium Outlets, nestled on the corner of Decatur and Sahara, you'll find the Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet. This large flea market provides numerous booths of quality, fun merchandise. Whether you're looking for a fun t-shirt, some bargain-priced quality jewelry or something truly unique, the Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet's slew of vendors will surely have what you're looking for. The best part of this shopping experience is the unbeatable deals that you will score during your shopping trip.

Bonanza Gift Shop

Not far from the Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet on Sahara Ave. is another shopping mecca that provides a bounty of souvenirs and quirky little trinkets. The Bonanza gift shop is pegged as being the World's Largest Gift Shop and once you step inside you'll find just how easy it is to get lost in the mass of bargain-priced souvenirs and t-shirts. Novelty shirts are a big seller at Fantastic, and at bargain prices, it's no doubt that these comedic wears are a hit amongst tourists. Shoppers will also find anything ranging from towels to coffee mugs to miniature poker sets, complete with poker chips and card shuffler. If Bonanza doesn't have it, chances are you don't need it.
